Yes, it was in a small town in Laos called Nong Khiaw. It is on a tributary of the Mekong about 100 km north of Luang Prabang. It used to be two villages separated by the river but the Chinese built a concrete bridge and now it's one.

Totally gorgeous place. I stayed there for 3 nights in the bungalow you can see on the right, high above the river.

That's what I was thinking - either upcountry Thailand, Laos or Cambodia. Reminds me of when I sued to live in Thailand and would travel out of the city.

I really like it, too! It is, as already pointed out, timeless in its sincerity. I like the candid feeling over this, and I do like the grain.
