Bracketing setup

Hi everyone!
I'm learning something about creating HDR photos using the bracketing feature on my D300. I've enabled the function button on the front to bring up the bracketing option on the lcd screen. But I'm wondering why I can't dial "2" stops between shots. It only goes to "1"or some fraction of that. I'm not sure I'm being clear. If not, let me know and I'll try to clarify.

Generaly bracketing is done at 1 stop increments, +1, 0, -1. If you want more than that try using a tripod and adjust your shutter speed for your over and under.

Pages 120 & 275 of your manual explain the increments for bracketing are 1/3, 1/2 and 1 stops. So to achieve your 2 stops, it has to be done manually.
