This photo of this broken angel was taken today under the gloomy remnants of Hurricane Sandy. I had been reluctant for some time to take a photo of this statue at a local cemetery due to her severed hand, but I found the angel quite beautiful under closer inspection. What do you think? C&C?

I agree with timor.

I like this, very much. While the toning works well, I'm wondering how this would look without it.

Love her and I'm not big on the statue thing...=)

Nice Fan. The title fits well, and like Timor says, sad.
Her head down, and broken hand leaves the feeling of a "Broken Angel".

Thanks for the comments. Yes, it is sad--I'm left wondering how her right hand would look since the sculptor did such intricate work on her left hand.

BTW, which cemetery is she in? There are SO many of these handless angels in C.E. I was begining to think they were sculpted that way

Haha...This statue is in Laureldale Cemetery. There are very few statues there, unlike C.E.

I found this to be true in all the different cemeteries I've visited. These three dimensional monments must have been very expensive to create and there is certainly a lot of money buried in CE. Some of the monuments in CE must be 30 ft tall.

Laureldale Cemetery!! It's fun knowing where these shots are taken!! I've driven by that place a thousand times....=)
