Broncos Vs. Jets

Yesterday evening I went to the Broncos V Jets game. Got tickets 15 rows back on the 35 yard line. Unfortunately I don't do much sports photography so all I had for a longer focal length lens was my SMCTakumar m42 200mm f4. Here are a couple of pics I got, I have plenty more but they are too noisy or barely just out of the acceptable focus.

For those of you that watched the game, the second shot is right when #41 recovered the fumble on the kick off after sanchez threw to #21 for a touchdown. I was happy to capture this exact moment when Vaughn plucked the ball from the jets hands.

Edit: These were also shot on a 40D @3200 ISO. Might explain some if the noisyness

While they are not great sports photos, personally to you I know they mean a lot to you. Sports happy snaps. As they say, "you do what you can, with what you have, from where you are"

Indeed. Im sure if I were on the field with a 300mm f2.8 it would be a little easier to get well framed shots. Atleast I'd hope I could!

It's never as easy as you think, certainly not the first time.

I wouldn't imagine its easy at all. I've shot some longboarding and skateboarding with a wide angle lens, and even thats somewhat difficult to do, and I can predict where the skater is going to be also, with football, not so much

Like everything, do it enough times and it does get easier.
