I am curious as what you guys use or back drops. I am on a real low budget these days, I was looking on google and I just cant see spending 80 dollars on a backdrop.
Please let me know what you use or suggest

One white sheet, 2-4 spring clamps, 6' to 10' of distance between it and your subject.

Tips:
Iron or steam before using.

Use inexpensive gels over backlighting to color it.

Use plants, glassware or other stuff as gobos between the light(s) and background to make fun patterns on it.

Painting a wall works too.

$80 for a backdrop is cheap.
A good one runs well over $300.
Seamless paper is about $40 for a 107" x 12 yard roll.

You can also buy rolls of canvas and paint it yourself. I used un-primed rolls of canvas from an art supply store. matte house paint (watered down) and a cheap wood scrap from the home improvement store to mount it.

I made one out of a king size bedsheet from wal-mart and some dye. Made it a little too tie dye looking but I'm sure there are ways to make them look cool.

fleece can work really well but not for large groups more like kids and babies also if you get a piece of molding and do a decorative upholstery fabric.

I went to the local fabric store and bought a piece of 60"x12' Inexpensive Black cloth... Works well fo single person portraits.

Black Velvet is the best stuff ive used for a Black background. Mines has been bumped by someone from college but, Im raging another Photographer would take an item of gear, regardless how cheap it is!

I work at a food store and they often have large poster signs hanging down the isles. so when they are done with them I take them with permission of corse. They work good its just that they are glossy. Look around for things like that

white walls are great, so is cheap fabric you find at the sale bins in fabric stores...
