When shooting race cars, especially when they are in motion, time to get everything straight and properly composed is a luxury we never have. We have to be aware of that fact and leave ourselves some room.

I try to always leave myself plenty of room around the subject so I can straighten and crop them later when I DO have time to study the shot. I'm not one of the "Straight Out Of Camera" fanatics, all I worry about when I'm shooting are proper exposure and proper focus. The rest can wait until later.

I can't believe people are picking apart the first photo. Great action shot, who gives a rats ass if it's tilted. The subject matter is there and well done but people got to bag on the guy for taking a great shot at a crucial moment, like they could get it right or should say, the "learned right".
