This is really nice. I might try to boost the mid-tone contrast just a bit, but that's probably just me.

I like this, however there are two things I feel when I look at this image: 1) I'm too close. My mind wants a wider view and perhaps not centered - maybe vertical. Hard to say as I have no idea what is outside the frame. 2) I wish there was more of a difference in tone between the curtains and the frame/wall. It blends together a bit too much (I think this may be what Ken is referring to). Perhaps the true colors made that distinction in the conversion impossible.

I like your eye. There's a story here, but I think shooting wider might have made it more tangible. Sorry so subjective.

Yeah...this is trending toward the monotone...everything seems to be the same tone value...maybe experiment with some of the Lightroom color filter effects to see if you can get some differentiation in the tonal values between the curtains and the window frame? I dunno...maybe it's supposed to be one basic tone, to emphasize...sameness? I am gonna guess the curtains were an old, faded yellow. I went thru the Lightroom color filter effects, and it took a LOT to make the tones separate...the blue high-contrast filter separated everything nicely, then the Direct Positive filter added more crispness.
