I would feel a lot happier if there was a rule that you had to post 50 times to use the Buy and Sell forum.

Anyone else feel the same way?

What difference would it make? the only time I got ripped the guy had over 1,000 posts...........IF the post count bothers you read under their avatar at number of posts and exclude the ones with less than 50:mrgreen:

What difference would it make?

We'll you be able to go back read through the posts make sure there not completely incompetent, someone who has taken time to post, I think personally isn't the sort of person to deliberately rip you off.

I made a trade with a guy from Australia who had 0 posts, went perfectly. Had he not been able to we wouldn't have been able to complete the transaction. For that I'm thankful.

Post count has little to do with it.

So you cant read the number of posts under their name ?

And only respond to the ones with higher post counts?

Sounds like you have the issue not the existing system.
You need to do your research no matter what the thread count.

I can appreciate the illusion of a feeling of comfort from thinking that someone with a higher post count = more forum involvement = someone who has no desire to rip off another forum member.

But regardless of post count, there are no guarantees, so yes, you must take the 'buyer beware' approach on any transaction you make in the Buy & Sell forum. It's not likely anything we'll put a restriction on, just ask that members read the forum disclaimer, and be careful. :)

i wish there was a way to leave "marketplace feedback." I'ts gives assurance for both parties. They have it on aquariacentral.com and it works great. Just an idea.

They have it at fredmiranda.com too. Just use pay-pal WITHOUT the 'gift' option and you should at least have a leg to stand on if someone tries to screw you. If you used the 'gift' option... kiss that money good-bye!

Exactly!

talphotography.co.uk use a market feedback system which works well, specially as members with a higher market place count can often reference a lesser member.
