~ By God She Has It ! ~ Currently undergoing both HOLD and FORCE FETCH conditioning training, gun dog trainee "SHOOTER" is seen making return of a training bird whilst maintaining a great HOLD o' the bird. This is a much welcomed breakthrough in SHOOTER'S development as a gun dog.

While the dog is doing well, this image is not.
The dog is forward of the plane of focus - the grass and flowers at his feet are OOF while those further away are quite sharper.
Color seems oversaturated to me.

Lew,
I concur with your critique. My capture of this image was very impromptu and it is unfortunately difficult to both handle the dog for training and to shoot artful images simultaneously. The real purpose of this photo was to illustrate the technical gains being made by the retriever as guided by the trainer.

I really appreciate your perspective.
