Took these a couple of weeks ago, but haven't really worked with them before today.

I wasn't sure how to crop #1. Ether I could frame the entire scene with the metal thing, or I could not cut off the bolt like thing in lower right corner. I chose the former option, but I'm not sure if it's the best one. What do you think? What do definitely should have done, was to wait for the ferry just visible in #1 until it was in the framing. It would pass straight through my frame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anders

I like #1 more than #2. In #1, the lighting is good as well as the framing of the composition. I think #2 is too closely cropped, and the scene within the metal structure is less interesting than that in #1.

I like 1 better. And yeah, definitely wait on the ferry.

I would have either physically brushed off the spiderweb or cloned it out in post.

I also would have given just a tiny bit more room to the metal structure on the left side so that it wasn't cut off.

I think you also have some spots on your sensor that need to cleaned.

I like this direction, Anders. The movement on the chain in #2 is appealing to me, as well as all the other elements. I'd go back and work on #1 again - see what else comes to your creative eye. It's very neat!

The_Pearl_Poet and fjrabon made good C&C. And, clean your sensor. I just cleaned mine and it's easy.

Pull back? Sorry, but I don't understand what that means. :/

Thanks for your feedback, guys! It's easy for me to check the times the ferry comes. Just a 15 minutes drive. If I get some better looking clouds, I'll take the trip out there.

Pull back from where you were. Take a few steps back, further away from the metal sculpture, so that you get the entire sculpture in the frame. (Edit: And just a bit more space on the top too, otherwise if you framed this, you'd lose the top of the sculpture as well).

I agree with the others' C&C...it's a good idea, and with a reshoot you could really come up with a winner here.
