Hey,

I've played around with this a little in lightroom.. I just used the auto b&w function to make it b&w. Original was shot in RAW. I personally like it... the only negative I can find is the bag at the bottom is perhaps a bit distracting but that's easily cropped out. Also, do you think its suitable to be put on a canvas or something of that sort? Thanks in advance!

It's not ready to be printed.

It sky lacks density and the photo overall lacks tonal separation. The mid-tone contrast in particular needs help.

Auto sucks, and Lightroom doesn't have the tools needed for making good B&W conversions.

With only having the B&W you posted to work with, and a quick edit at that:

Definitely has potential, I could see it hanging on a wall with a crop and a little more contrast. Why not post the color version? I wanna see that!

Thanks for feedback, what's the best program for doing b&w conversions then? CS5 any better?

Heres an edit I did.

Crop, exposure increase, color boost+correction, and blue photo filter in PS.

Ideally you would use Camera Raw/Lightroom (both are ACR) and CS5. The conversion to B&W would happen in CS5 using a B&W adjustment layer. There are areas that can use some dodge and burn in the midtone range. I typically start at about 50% opacity.
