C&C Please and Thank You

I shot this photo in a mall with my new (at the time) 11-16 wide angle lens. I think the photo is interesting and obviously shows pattern and shapes. I would like some input from the forum.
Every time I think about entering this in my camera club competition something holds me back. Does the picture really suck and I'm the only one who thinks its a good shot?

I'm sure this is partially due to a lack of confidence, and the fear you sometimes feel when your photos are shown in front of a group.

So tell me what you think.

You know what will make it better? Shoot it on a tripod and do a slow shutter so you can see motion blur of people using the elevator. OR use an ND filter and make it even longer and you wont see anyboyd riding the elevator.

Well, first off Beyond the Basics is not a C&C, or Gallery forum section.

I recommend getting that vertical center column out of the middle of the frame.
Looking at the full size image there is some motion blur of the people in the shot. I agree that having the people on the escalators even more blurred would be effective, particluarly if there are other people that don't move during the exposure.
There is also a fair amount of image noise. However, the EXIF data for the shot is incomplete and lacks the exposure information, making possible causes of the image noise moot.

I'm also not taken with the tonality/contrast of the B&W conversion, if it's a conversion as opposed to it being made in the camera using a monotone setting.

I have an vision of some editing that does not include a crop, but you have selected My Photos Are NOT OK to Edit, so I can't persue it and show you the result.

Thanks for the input. KmH, I have changed my setttings to allow edits if you care to try to edit again. I would like to see what you can do with it. I haven't done much with B&W processing and find it hard to judge what looks good. BTW, it was a B&W conversion done in Lightroom. I did make some noise adjustments. I apologize if I posted in the wrong forum. I saw other C&C requests in "Beyond the basics" so I thought it was OK. Where do you post C&C's except [h=2]Photography Beginners' Forum & Photo Gallery[/h]

Shettylens, I agree, but at the time of the shot I had no tripod. I was just walking around the mall with my daughter trying out my new lens. Thanks for your comment.
