I took this photo for a couple two days before the husband had to leave for a nine month military deployment. Your thoughts?

a little dark on the right... maybe if the sun was directly behind them instead of off to the side it would help with a "glow" around them.

yeah, good moment, but the dark corner is bothersome. Did you do that in post trying to silhouette the couple? Too bad the clouds did not cooperate a little more for you...damn you clouds. lol

Military service is a noble cause, but it can be a difficult lifestyle... I know... I'm in the Navy, and I have been for more than 18 years. I've had my share of bittersweet goodbyes...

Post production was minimal... The silhouette was SOOC because I metered near the sun... It's not the best photo I've taken, but it's far from the worst... I personally love the purple hues in the sky.

you can be "anti-military" while still supporting the troops, and appreciating all that they do and art that illustrates the triumphs and struggles of a military family. ;-)

The two oldest girls belong to the mom from a previous marriage... The boy on the left belongs to the dad from a previous marriage... The girl on the right and the baby girl in mom's arms came from the two of them together... They're quite a beautiful family...

I don't know where in the image the military is referenced? Anyway I like the sunset where it is. A little bit of fill light would have made this image awesome!
