Alright I am trying different things that people have suggested. all i did was crop photo 1 and put a frame around it.

2 is the jeep to distracting? i think it is but all the other pics it just looks so whited out because the snow and the white fence so I had him positioned there to add color.

For what my feedback is worth:

1 - tighter crop so that your son fills more of the frame. I'd also play around with making the colours on his jacket pop more. And, he looks a little out of focus

2 - yes, the jeep is distracting. I'd use a white background or use less depth of field to blur out the jeep so that it is only red

3 - again, tighter crop and faster shutter speed perhaps for the snow.

I'm sure others would have lots to add. Not my favourite series, but good pictures of your son nonetheless!

see i thought that the first picture looked good having more blur in the backround image. I did notice a lil out of focus...but since he is moving so much i couldnt duplicate the shot. i tried to blur the image more. i couldnt do it. i was using the kit 55-200. i tried chaning the settings but got to much light in or it was to dark. im still learning how to screw around with the aperture. thanks for your thoughts!

I'd actually go the other way and crop it less so that there's more room between him and the edge of the frame. I think there's enough going on in the background that it provides interest for the shot without being distracting. Just a different opinion. :)

I love the third shot - maybe a slightly higher shutter speed would have made sure that he was a bit sharper, but the motion blur on the feet and snow he's kicking up add a lot to the shot in my opinion. Maybe crop down a bit of the top and left, but that's just taste.

I hope you don't mind, but I had a play on the first one. I warmed it up a little and increased the contrast just a tad. Added a vignette as well.

The darkness would not be my preference. My take would be to lighten the areas with snow and leave the exposure on your son about the same as the first pic. Some sharpening helps to bring focus to your son and show detail to the flakes. He is a little tight to the corner and could use a little space to ease the visual tension. Here is an edit that addresses some of my preferences:
