Focus and exposure are good.

Composition needs work ... the bee is too centered.

You need to make the off camera flash look more natural.

The light is a morning sun. I go to great lengths not to use flash. This was back in the fall when I first started shooting digital and was just reaquanting myself with the camera and I over exposed the flowers that day.

I have been using 100 ISO when I can as well. I remember finding it in the high range at one time as I was figuring this camera out.
That may have been an issue in regards to the flower...?

i would crop so that the bee is looking into the frame, not out of it.

Why? You have so much more artistic and technical control if use use off camera strobed light (flash, or OCF).

Because my photography teacher told me years ago the early morning and evening sun light was the best I guess.

I do use flash from time to time, will post an example later.
