C/C Prospect Park, Brooklyn photos (last roll before jump to large format!)

What do you think? Am I ready to make the leap to 4x5? My tripod just came in today so I now have all the necessary gear. The first photo (taken on the roof of my building) I think would make a really nice 4x5 negative, printed it would look almost Jackson Pollacky.

All are shot on 35mm Ilford HP5.

The issue I am seeing here is lack of interesting subject matter. Doesn't mean every image has to be melodramatic or sensationalistic, but more interesting than tree branches or a park scene rendered in the most basic, standard, and obvious way. Sure, you can probably leap to the 4x5, but you are still going to have the challenge of capturing things in interesting ways. The sign definitely has the most potential, it is visually interesting, but it is still a fairly standard approach. Don't get me wrong--straightforward styles can most definitely work, but imo, you have to have stronger subjects than this.

What she said. I like the first one....needs some serious PP however. And crop off the white strip on the bottom
