C&C Spiders, gators, the usual stuff

Hi everyone!

I bought my first DSLR - a Canon 20D - about a year ago and have been toying with it to learn it, but have recently focused on moving on to the next level of actually taking a decent photo. I still have a ton to learn about post processing and I don't claim to be an expert in anything related to my rig yet but I wanted to put some photos out there for critique - and if anyone feels like it - post processing ideas.

I live about 10 minutes away from a swamp filled with alligators, spiders, birds, bison, you name it. I've taken every Friday off from now until January and my goal is to go out each Friday, find a new location and just start shooting.

^^^ Too much something... saturation maybe? I tried to work on this one in post and this is how it turned out. Not thrilled by it.

Good shots. I think your problem with the last one is that it appears to be underexposed.

really like 1 and 4. too bad 3 was a sunny afternoon, that sun takes away a little from the shot. Last one is not captivating, but neat. But love the dof on 4. very nice!
