That is a big rock that was alongside the road in the park. I'm not quite sure why it froze in that pattern, but thought it was cool

I like the second too. In the first, there is a strange halo (PP?) around the wood. I also would crop some of the right space.

The water froze and then the water level dropped. Gravity caused the gaps or "ripple" The level probably dropped slowly and the ice dropped several times creating a new "ripple" line. The ice attached to the rock is not touching water now it is suspended above. You can see the water in the left rear and the slope up to the right bank.
