So here are a few pics I feel are the best that I have taken so far ever since I picked up a DSLR. Not many, but I want to see what criticisms and lessons I can gain from the following shots. Each one has been from a different situation which will be noted after the picture. Note, there are minimal edits on each picture, due to the fact I believe I should master taking pictures vs. editing and stylizing them via photoshop/image editing. I'm stubborn like that. :)

I know that I should definitely have color balanced the burlesque show(came out too red/yellow) but as for the rest.. Go for it. :X *puts on safety helmet*

too many photos to give C&C on but the first thing that strikes me is excessive use of tilt. Except for the 3rd shot I'd back off on that ;)

I'll cut it down. Whoops. Sorry about that :) As I was picking photos I got a bit carried away, lol. One second...

@Tilt comment: Yeah. I've noticed myself getting into that a bit too much. Its a weird black hole I've slowly been sucked into. I don't know why....

@The_Wanderer- Wewt at success! :) Thanks

@The_Traveler- Not at all. I was just shooting based off how the hired photographer was shooting them. All the shots he took outside (it was a gorgeous day), almost in all the pics that I took, he directed the people to pose a certain way. And in every single pose, they stood just right so that their were a huge amount of shadows on their face or at least a good few were in the shadows. When I saw this happening, I bit my lip. Though, now that I think about it, I should have said something. He was getting paid and they were getting a million shots where a bunch of people's faces were getting covered by shadow. :/ And it was their wedding.

I agree with the tilts, I place them in the same category as selective coloring, they only work on a limited basis. On the first you used f2.8 at 1/30th shutter, you've got softness and some minor motion blur. Some sharpening might help it.
I agree, flash would help with 2.
#3 I not sure how I feel, I'm wondering how this would look in landscape.
#4 alot of your shots in the series has a red tilt I assume from the lighting, doesnt kill them but some have softness issues.
Keep at it.
