Thoughts and comments? There are a few concerns I have in it, but rather than voice them and plant them in your head, can a few of you tell me what, if anything(lol) is wrong with this picture? Oh, and the space on the left of course is where my tag goes! =p

C&C per req: I see a number of issues with the image; nothing major, but definitely areas for improvement nonetheless. First and foremost, the poor girl has a tree growing out of her head. Move either yourself or the subject to avoid these sort of basic mistakes. As well, the path makes a very good leading line, but her position is such that the eye follows the curve of the line right out of the image instead of landing on her. I'm not sure what a 'tag' is, or why you need that much space. This image would have been much stronger had you shot it in a vertical (portrait) orientation. Always watch for things like the exposed bra-straps; a half-second and those could have been covered up. On the plus side, the exposure is spot on; you've got the perfect amount of detail in her white shirt, and her skin is excellent. The bright areas behind her are a bit of a distraction, but they're easily covered up.

This.

Hi john! I was hoping you'd see one of these threads before I started bugging you again :D I... didn't even notice the tree =/ And the first thing my wife said after we finished shooting was that she bet her bra strap was showing in each one; they were, lol. This one actually WAS shot in vertical, but I think she was walking, cause her pose looked very, very awkward. Here is the original in JPEG format:

Ok, sorry for the double posting, but I went in tighter on the crop and tried to kill some of the tree, while cutting out (hopefully) most of the curve in the path that would lead the eye away. I think.

Posting multiple images in your own thread isn't double-posting...

This does correct most of the problems in #1, BUT it introduces a new one; she's now so crowded against the RH side of the frame, it's uncomfortable. I think the real key is to slow down a little bit and look around; look at the background, look at the foreground, decide how the subject looks in the frame, check for stray hair, cropped limbs, bra-straps, etc.

What you thought I got a life or something?

lol :D Work became my life there for a bit, but it's slowing down some I think. Just in time for winter! And of course, now that I can get out and shoot more, the weather is turning ****ty.

I think I'll just scrap this set, it was more of a spontaneous thing anyway, and the strap is going to drive my wife crazy.

OH!

The thing I mainly posted this picture for in the first place was because I was worried about my PP... but nothing glaringly off with that? I always worry I make skin look fake or something when I touch it up.
