There was a customer at the counter just before this shot, but he left...

Normally, it is. I like to avoid getting humans in my shots. (private joke) So I went there about 2:30 PM. It's open 24hrs, I think. Dix Coney Island was originally founded in Detroit, MI, but somehow made it to Denton TX. They make their own corned beef and their Ruben sandwiches are extremely good.

Denton certainly has changed since my time there('66-'68). Like the photo, good feel of depth and great wood tones.

It still has that college town weird vibe, but it's getting bigger. The University is doing very well, under a very energetic and capable president. And the old courthouse square is still very cool.

One of my sons is a perpetual student at UNT.
Me too, sort of. UNT has a chapter of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. I take classes there regularly. It's inexpensive, no grades, no tests, just lectures by highly qualified instructors. You have to be over 50. They also do trips and other events:

I'll have to look into that.
