I hope that is a good thing. What happened was, my wife saw one of those cheap, mass produced pictures at walmart and she liked it. I told her not to buy a mass copy and let me make her an original.

It is clean but not simple ... yet it is a simple subject.

#2 I like better!

The crop is a big reason for that as it's nice to see the stem. #1 is nice for a few seconds and then I think the B&W hurts it 'cause it becomes boring fast. The flower to me just isn't interesting without some color in it.

Be interesting to see an edit where maybe some is black and white but there's still some color left.

Thanks, everyone. I probably won't be doing any selective color edits to this photo. I have done a slightly desaturated edit though. It was only "eh".

Here is an B&W edit in the crop you like. I also upped the brightness to enhance the whites. I adjusted the green stem too so it shows more.
