Camera Bag Advice

Amazon.com: AmazonBasics DSLR and Laptop Backpack (Orange interior): Camera & Photo

That's the one I was thinking about, but right now I am using an old shoulder bag I picked up off Cragslist for $50 with a few lenses, filters, and a Nikon film camera. It actually holds quite a bit of equipment (2 bodies with lens, my 18-55mm, 2x Speedlites, cable, cords, caps, and has straps for tripod on bottom), a LOT more than my Lowepro CompuDay Pack does. The only thing I would be ass-out on is if I had a big tele, but I could trade out one of the speedlites for a 70-300 size ...

I've had great luck with the Mountainsmith line of packs. Great pieces of gear

Yeah I was thinking about the amazonbasics backpack too, it's cheap. How about the quality? Is it any good?

So I think the amazon backpack is not a good choice and I'm thinking to buy this Manfrotto MB SS390-7BC Zaino Serie Agile e Tracolla per Fotocamera DSLR, Misura Interna L31xP16,5xA27 Cm, Corda: Amazon.it: Elettronica that in the italian amazon site is at half the price and it can carry also personal stuff like books in the top. What do you guys think? Any other suggestion. The backpacks you showed me in the previous page are cool but they're really too expensive.
I would go for one of Kata's sling bags. Their great because you can use them as a proper backpack (2 straps) or if you travel light, or need easy access, as a sling

Hello there.
I have a D5100 and I'm looking for a large bag so I can carry the camera and all my lenses and accessories around. At the moment I've got a small bag where I can put only my camera and a little lens.
I was going to buy this http://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasic...d=1392218107&sr=8-7&keywords=amazonbasics+bag
but reviews says that it's not that big. I'll probabily put all my equip in there.
Long story short, I need a bag that fits:
D5100
18-55mm VR
(probably I'll change this with a 16-85mm VR in a few months)
55-300mm VR
35mm f1/8
A medium flash
cables, remote control, batteries, sd cards ecc.
And maybe a tripod

Something not too expensive.
I found the lowerpro 180 aw while looking around in a local shop and it's pretty good but something a little bigger would be better. And anyway it's a little expensive.
Thanks!

I have used this in the past and it would fit your equipment perfectly:

Very inexpensive and still some room to grow.

So you think I should go with a backpack? I dunno everytime I see a backpack it seems too big for what I have to carry. Anyway I'll give a look to the backpacks too. Any suggestions?

If it's too big for what you have now, don't worry, you'll grow into it. I use Amazon.com: Tamrac 5549 Adventure 9 Photo/Computer Backpack (Grey/Black): Camera & Photo

I was going to say the same thing. That being said, the one I got that could hold everything now is primarily a storage place. We have gone full circle and now use smaller bags. Strange hobby I tell you!

Ive found the same as you as my equipment stash has grown.
One large bag to store everything and an assortment of smaller bags for whatever excursion I find myself going on.
I have some waist bags for light travel days, a sling bag for a bit more, and a back pack for the major outings.

Backpacks can be a PITA getting to your gear...

IMHO, a backpack is best if your carrying your stuff for long distance (hikes, traveling, very-very long walks... etc). One of my all time favorites is the lowepro Flipside. I just got the new version... the Sport Flipside (Flipside Sport 10L AW Camera bags, backpacks and rolling cases .. but they make larger ones) and its even better then the old one.

However, I never use it... of all the bags i've bought (and sold).. The ThinkTank Retrospective is un-beatable (http://www.thinktankphoto.com/categories/shoulder-bags/retrospective.aspx)

I hate camera bags.
But, I made my own using a (clearanced!) BuiltNY laptop bag, based off this idea - Shootsac Lens Bag | Shootsac. Its awesome.
