As some of you know I recently aquired a Rebel XT and some other cool stuff. Now I am in need of a case before June 10. I will need to carry onto an airliner and throught customs and all that garb, the following:

Rebel XT
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Sigma 12-125mm
2x Cokin P holders
Cokin circular polarizer
graduated ND filter
cables, batteries, chargers
iPod
thin CD case of DVDs
HP M360 and extra hi-cap batt
small Pelican 1020 case

I could have this in two bags, but that would mean I would have at least 3 to deal with in the airport. Also finding a place for 2 bags on the plane wouldn't be fun. Right now I'm thinking of one of the Crumpler half-camera/half-'normal' bags, or one of their camera/laptop bags, or a Lowepro Rover AW II or Stealth AW II.

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly helpful

thanks!

Hmm nice kit list there !! Lowerpro do some excellent gear bags that will fit all that in. More of a specialist backpack really in your case. In my opinion Lowerpro are the best out there and damn good value for money. Nice finish too. What about this one for example:

I think this fits the bill rather nicely !! :D

Let us know what you go for in the end !!

Yes, Nice List! I would also reccomend the Lowepro range it is the best range out in my opinion. Plus you can pick up some great Brand New or Second Hand ones upon eBay at great prices compared to other retailers. Good Luck with your search.

Most of my equipment lives in Tamrac backpack Expedition 5. I would definitely recommend taking a look. Managed to fit 2 bodies, 3 lenses, 1 100-400 lens, and a flash. There are larger backpacks at Tamrac but any more equipment on my back, I would topple over.

The other day, I got a close look at the lowepro roller 1. Very impressive and well padded. If I were in the market for one, the lowepro would be close the top of my list. Since it looks basically like all the other rollers at the airport, it would less likely be targeted for theft.

Thanks for the input. I've been looking some more at the Lowepro site, and picked out these two:

Stealth AW II
Rover AW II

The Orion Trekker II sadly has no computer slot, so that won't work.
Between these, which do you guys think would hold all my stuff, and protect it during a day of a few commercial flights and a charter flight and rough car ride?

Do you hvae a shoulder bag that you currently carry your camera in? Because I have both a shoulder and a backpack. The backpack works great for travelling and what not, but I hate using it while shooting. From my experience, the backpack is nice to have, but my favorite way to go ouy is with the camera around my neck and several lenses in my shoulder bag for easy access. Just my 2 cents

No, I don't a bag at all, hence the urgency to get one before my trip at the end of the week.

canon(edit: 1 "n" i better get it right ) makes a sholder bag, that holds two SLR cameras 4 lenses and 3 side pockets, i got one when i got my digi Rebel XT it also comes with a UV lense and a battery for the XT, i got mine at best buy for like $100 i think

Well I finally decided. I figured I needed a bag with space for other stuff, so I got the Crumpler Customary Barge from smalldog.com. Should ship tomorrow and arrive Thursday or Friday. Hopefully Thursday.
