I’m really want to get into photography, and I’d appreciate it if you could help me look for good and affordable cameras, preferably below 1000 dollars. I want to do landscape and portraits. I’m already looking to buy the Canon Eos rebel T7, and I’m wondering if this camera would be fit for what I want to do.

Hello and welcome, most cameras can do what you want. Good luck with your new hobby ... :encouragement:

i would not buy an SLR in 2025.

Canon does have an R-series equivalent of the T7. Altho Ive handled it, I dont recall its full model number. Its very compact, possibly just a bit smaller than the T7, and priced well within your $1000 budget.

That camera will be fine to start out with. Get a good portrait lens (85mm or so). For landscapes you'll want something a bit wider. Get the fastest lens you can afford (something with f/1.4, f/1.8, or f/2). Once you use the Rebel for awhile, you'll discover what you like and don't like and can upgrade. Let us know what you end up doing.
