We have a mini-dv camcorder and are considering upgrading. We are wondering if the clarity of the new HD cameras is better than mini-dv?
Along with that, there are MANY offerings out for camcorders now. Some with hard drives, some with memory cards. There is a lot of conflicting advice at stores like Best Buy as well. Not sure which type, brand, features, etc. are best to look for. It seems a hard drive would have more opportunity to fail but the salespeople say they can store a better picture than memory cards.
And, today, we went to a camera store. The salesperson showed us 2 point and shoot cameras that will also take HD movies -- a Sony WX1/B and a Canon SX210 IS. This seemed a logical alternative if the cameras can take movies and still pics well.
Let me know some of your thoughts.
