Can this SD card be salvaged?

It appears that one of the metal contacts split in 1/2 and I'm not sure if it can be salvaged. Thoughts?

That's not metal, and it's not a contact. It's the plastic the makes up the case of the card. Use a nail clipper and snip it off.

I dunno about that. Here is another, better picture of the card. These are all gold colored and this one is split in 1/2. It sure looks like it is metal. When I try to put the card into an SD card reader, there is pressure so I don't force it for fear of bending that piece.

Are you referring to the angled piece that's next to the angled corner? It's plastic.

I'm referring to the gold colored metal contact in the photo below. It somehow got cut in 1/2 and the card is unreadable. I got the "CHA" error when I tried to use it in my D90 and, as I indicated above, the card will not slide into my SD card reader...

It's (the metal contact) not cut or broken in half. The broken piece of plastic that is covering it is preventing the contact with the matching pin inside the camera or card reader.

I've had cards do this in the past. I just cut the broken piece off with a nail clipper or hobby knife.

Your card is fine. Just cut the little piece of broken plastic off.

I appreciate the help, but there is no broken plastic. The tiny metal contact is split in 1/2 and bends away from the card. I can physically move the contact with my finger. :scratch:

I agree with Sparky. In the second pic you posted I enlarged it to max size from your flickr page. You can see the shadow of the plastic piece on the metal (gold) contact. You can also see where the plastic broke from the end. The plastic looks white because it was deformed so bad and could appear as a broken contact.
