For some reason I did not shoot much macro over the last year but Lightspeed's thread inspired me to shoot one today. I used a Minolta 50/3.5 1:2 macro on a 20mm extension tube & a Raynox DCR-150 out front.

Two thumbs up for the person that can identify what the subject is.

Hmm.. ribs (barbs) are translucent.... the structure in between the ribs has that look of the barbules and hooklets common to feather structure! If it isn't a feather.. then I have no idea! lol!

My first thought was it was laminated plywood, but it's definitely not. I agree with the feather. Which makes me think... I have feathers galore here.
I really want extension tubes now! You guys are going to make a macro shooter out of me yet!
