way underexposed, and their name is Canada Goose. The only way it would be Canadian is if it has a Canadian passport!!:biglaugh::lol: :wink-new:

He did I thought he might be illegal so made him show it. it really isnt under exposed as I darkened it when I brought it into light room. to me the snow seemed to be blowing out but it might just be the noob in me seeing things so I dropped it -1 1/3 in lightroom

BTW FYI the first shot is actually how light it really was out there very low light because of the winter storm coming in today

I get it and that all makes sense. If you want to tame the blown snow, you can do it with highlights/shadows or the whites slider. Be careful with these because it can end up gray, and snow generally isn't gray. If it was me I'd take the bird from the lighter one and the background from the darker one and brighten the background til it's just on the cusp between gray and white in the snow. It's good you're practicing. Keep it up.

EDIT: I just opened the lighter one in camera raw and there's no highlight clipping, so the snow looks washed out but it's not blown.

Thanks yes I am on day 11 of my 365 day challenge which also means I only been shooting for 11 days lol

Yeah I've been following your posts/progress. It's fun for old-timers like me to see somebody excited about a new hobby! Cheers!

lol well I remember taking pictures of B-52's and Water spouts in the pacific with a 110 camera lol wished had this one back then cause we had come out of a typhoon and in the evening there were 10 waterspouts in front of us and the 110 makes them look so far a way and un-impressive

I hear you. I lived a pretty wild and crazy life from age 20 to about 28 and I didn't have a camera for any of it. My first proper camera was a film SLR which I got a few years before digital really took over. I didn't have a proper DSLR until 2009 and even then it was a Nikon D40. I only have about 20 or so pics from my glorious youth. LOL If I could have had what I have now back then.... *sigh
