Saw these when we took the dog for her morning walk yesterday. After the walk I went back with my Camera. These are Cane Cholla Cactus. This is one of the more common types of cacti here in central New Mexico. We have many of these on our property and they're really nice when they bloom. When they die, they leave a hollowed out skeletal stalk that are often used to make "rain sticks."
