Canon 20D RAW Images

I just shot a bunch of images on my 20D (RAW+JPEG L)
I've downloaded them to my pc using my card reader and the camera/pc has given every raw image a cr2 extension.
I have the RAW image installed in my copy of photoshop CS and if i choose to open a file i can select to open a raw image.
I can't open CR2 files though.
I've tried chaning the CR2 to RAW and at least then PS asks for the image size. However when i type in the sizes (2336x3504) PS says that the specified size is too large and the file wont open.
The image size is correct since it's full size and not cropped.

Can someone please tell me what I'm missing?

what version of the Photoshop RAW plugin do you have for CS
you need the 2.4 update for 20D

Have you tried using Canon's software to deal with their RAW images?

i have tried Canon's software but feel it's a bit convoluted and if i can get PS to open direct from the camera it'll be much easier.

Thanks Etaf....it was an older version of the Adobe plug in i had. I installed from the link you posted and i got it working.
