Canon 40D - Looking to Buy

Does anyone know if the 40D has been released anywhere yet? I went in Best Buy last week, and they mentioned their computer said it would be in Sept. 2nd. I called yesterday (Sept 2nd) and it showed that it was supposed to arrive then, but didn't at any stores, and that there were 4 due in for the store near me.

Basically they said it'd be $1499 for the 40D + 28-135 IS lens, and to keep calling back, because it should arrive soon.

Does anyone know of US stores/websites selling this now?

The body only kits arrived this week. Dunno when the kit lenses are out. Gonna give the local store a couple of more days before I go the online route. Wolfcamera says they are shipping now. Try giving them a call to see if they still have stock. B&H and Adorama should get them soon I figure.

I was told Sept 20th for my Kit to ship from Amazon.
