Can I use the Canon 500D Close-Up lens on a Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens?
I have a Nikon D3100. What do you think?

Ok. I need to add up a post count....so I'll take a shot.

If by a close up lens, you are talking about one of the adapter lenses that screw onto the front of the main lens.... then, provided the Nikon lens was about the same focal legnth as the Canon lens, and the filter diameter is the same, you should be ok.

Are you talking about macro? Please clarify lol.

Filter threads are filter threads, no matter what the brand.

Yes, the Canon 500D close-up filter (not the 500D camera body) should fit properly on your Nikon lens, assuming you purchased the correct filter size. The correct filter size for your lens is 52mm.

Let me know how it works; I'm curious about it, myself.
