Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I cannot decide which one is right for me most of my pictures are taken for concerts some portraits or at night but not all of them Also looking which one would be the best for recording bands live. another thing i want to get into is hdr. which lenses would be the best for me to start out

Let me be the first to say:
-Head to your local camera store
-Try both
-Use the one that you think feels best
Heck, bring your own cards and review your test shots back home.

Short answer- I'm D7000 biased.

Most people i ask choose the nikon d7000 would you know which lens would be good for what i want to shoot for? and i never really looked into the d7000 video how is it?

A good walk around lens would be the Nikon 24-70 2,8

It is a phenomenal lens!

60D for videos, D7000 for photography. End of discussion.

Have to agree, d7000 is fantastic. However, 60d is no slouch, you'll be happy with either, it all depends on which family of lenses you want to get into.

When it comes to image sensor performance there is no comparison between the 60D and the D7000, particularly when it comes to dynamic range and low-light ISO performance: DxOMark - Compare cameras side by side

Why doesn't Canon list video specs for the 60D.

Looks like the D7000 is actually a bit more capable at doing video than the 60D.

It's unusual to see a Canon/Nikon debate that ends up being to helpful. People are biased or some are fanboys and some prefer the way an image looks from one camera than another. Out of interest I have read reviews on both and though the Nikon gets more favourable reviews there are plenty that recommend the Canon as better.Testing both out in a shop with your own cards is probably the best way for you to decide. My guess is you will love both and prefer one.

That's why I linked to an independent source that does technical testing and measuring using industry standard techniques.

It has been scientifically demonstrated (Scientific American magazine reported on the issue a few months ago) that online reviews by individuals are not reliable, and are mostly just self-speak used by the individual to justify their purchase to themselves.

Notice that none of the Canon recommenders offered any links to independent sources, nor bothered to explain how, or why, the Canon D60 video outperforms the D7000 video.

That's fair enough about the standard testing but if someone prefers what they see from one camera over another, its scientific results are of little value imho. Some prefer the Canon irrelevant of the industry standard result.

‪Nikon DX vs Canon APS-C: Dynamic Range (Part 2/3)‬‏ - YouTube

I actually found this posted on the forum earlier this year. It's an online review but I have to think it is pretty reliable. I mean, I didn't even have to download the full resolution images to be able to tell which had better noise performance. By the way, that's all the video really talks about but it goes quite in depth. And honestly, this sealed the deal for me and it is why I purchased the D7000 over the 60D. Granted the test is for the D5100 vs T2i and I don't think the 60D and the T2i have the same sensor but I didn't really look into it after this video.

I'm completely completely biased! But it has to be the Nikon D7000. Beautiful camera, wonderful sensor performance, great build aswell. And I don't feel now that the video is such a big issue, 24FPS HD is the thing people use DSLR video for mainly anyway. If your a VIDEO PRO though get the Canon, if your put photography first the D7000 is the one I would get.

But at same time, as I've said before you won't always get the best advice by posing Canon vs Nikon questions, because as you can tell alot of us here are biased to one brand or the other. My only real reason for Preferring Nikon is due to the fact the ergonomics feel better to me, Canon feels a bit clunky in its design. But I'm aware this is purely my own personal opinion!
