Hello everyone,
This is my first post here and I have come for some guidance. I am starting my quest to build up some starter equipment to begin learning the ropes of photography.
I have researched and the best two options in my budget range are the Canon EOS 40D and the Sony A DSLR-A700.
Both seem to be very good cameras with only a few differences. The A700 clocks in at 12.24 megapixels while the 40D is only 10. Also the FPS for the A700 is only 3 for raw but a large difference in the 40D of 6 FPS.
What do you suggest? I am leaning towards the A700 because of the extra megapixels for printing. Would I really notice a difference in going from 10 to 12?
I will be shooting a few weddings and business events. But I also want to be able to do portrait shots.
Do you think there is any downside to picking one over the other?
Off topic: Wish my budget was large enough for the A900! :hail:
Thanks for any input you can provide!
