Canonet Ql17

Just finished installing new light seals in a Canonet QL17 I found at a local junk shop. I had no experience doing this kind of repair but thanks to the excellent instructions of Jon Goodman it was fairly straight forward. I have to say this little rangefinder has found a spot in my heart. The ergonomics are sublime (to my tastes), it's quite the looker, and the size is just perfect. I think I'm in love. Going to take it for a spin this weekend.

I'll probably end up selling this one on ebay since I don't shoot much 35mm. Something I've noticed about these compared to say a Electro 35 or Konica S2, the rangefinder on the Canonet is VERY bright and the rangefinder patch is larger. I find the camera easy to focus because of that. I do wish it was auto shutter speed instead of auto aperture. Also, the light meter only works when camera is set to auto aperture.
