can't decide if this is too processed- CC please

Please help me determine if this is good or not. It seems a bit haunting or something to me, which is cool, but i can't decide if i went too far.

Not to be negative or anything, but its much too dark, especially for a children's portrait. Kid photos do much better in brighter lighting.

Kinda Cool? Yes, but maybe with a different subject.

Thanks. This was an unuseable shot that I thought I would play with in photoshop to see what could be done.

I like it! I dono about the whole light vs. dark thing. Either way it seems more arty than cute shot of children so now that i've given more thought to it i feel more confident about it. What is Lightroom? I have inherited CS3 from my webdesigner husband and that's what i've been using.

ouch, pricey. I'll have to see if i can get it through my husbands job.

Lightroom is an Adobe product, not as powerful as Photoshop.

oh, i've got CS3. I thought it was something i should get to kind of upgrade, or have the right tools.
