Errm... without wishing to sound dumb, that goes way over my head... what does it mean?

Well e^pi*i is equal to -1 and the geometric series is a series of numbers that starts with 1/2 and then goes: +1/4+1/8+1/16... ...+1/infinity. when you add all those up you get 1. So the e^pi*i and the geometric series cancel each other out and you are left with .002.
