Capturing light at the night markets

Had a fun time this week trying to pay more attention to light. Something I need to learn more about. Took these with my E-M5.

I do like the drama that the lighting brings to the shots, it's almost as if the light is the subject rather then the people in the market. As if the they are there to add texture to the light. Perhaps that's what you intended by the stark contest that you gave the shots , which really brings up the light as the focus of the shots. Just my opinion. Thanks for sharing them.

IMO, the second is much better because the subjects are limned with the slanting light but, unfortunately the subjects aren't either posed or doing anything dramatic.
Now, you've got the technique down, it's time to put it to work.

Agree Lew. I'm annoyed that the people weren't more expressive and facing the camera, would add more drama to the image, though I wouldn't want them to attract attention away from the light either, fine balance needed.
