Hello All,
I'm new here and hoping you can help me with something a bit mysterious I observed recently !
I was using the Sekonic Flashmate L-308S light meter, and I've never seen this before. I can't upload a video, but I've attached screenshots from the video I took. As I moved the light meter back and forth between me and the subject the meter reading changed in real time without touching the meter reading button on the righthand side. This happened while using the Profoto strobes modeling light turned on. This would happen in both Flash and Flash(C) modes. The meter re-meters in real time with the modeling light turned on. I can only make an accurate meter reading of the strobe with the modeling light turned off. Then If I try to meter with the modeling light turned on (holding the righthand button down and triggering the flash) the meter will read as E.u. or F0.5. I also tried to cycle through different settings on the profoto strobe itself but none of the other setting on the strobe seemed to resolve this issue. This is also happening with three other light meters, not just this one. I already removed the batteries to reset each meter as well.
Is this an issue with profoto modeling light frequency? This has never happened to me with other strobes and this isn't happening with a different brand strobe. Or is this a light meter issues?
Please advise. Thank you!
