Used 2 Nikon D300 Cameras. The Caracara pics where shot with a Nikkor 300mm F2.8, IF, ED, Vr lens with a 1.7 T.C. (500mm @F4.8, Iso 400, 1/3200 sec)

and the White Ibis With a Sigma 50-500mm lens (shot at iso 250, F5.8, 1/2000 sec @ 240mm)

What do you think of the Sigma 50-500? Have been thinking of getting one for my Pentax. Is it heavy? Did you use a tripod for those shots? They are really great, nice and sharp. I currently have a 70-300 also from Sigma but find it very inflexible, wish I had a zoom lens that started at 50-55mm ...

I use my nikon lenses the most, but as you see the Sigma 50-500mm isn't bad. Not to heavy and for the price it is a deal. i only use it in bright light during the day , always keeping it mounted on one of my cameras. Lens focus is pretty fast too!
