I don't think so. She was just out enjoying the evening sun. It's not that kind of place. If you were looking for that kind of action I suspect you'd have to go outside the walled city. That's not where tourists should go.

I have been to Colombia 4 or 5 times and never felt in any danger day or night. This time I went with my wife and 3 kids. As long as you don't go where tourists shouldn't go there won't be any problems. I feel safer in Colombia than I do in London. Ecuador is a different story.

That surprises me some parts Cali, Cauca are still quite dangerous. Where have you been?

I was in Cali once many years ago and didn't like it, there was nothing there for tourists, it's not pretty like colonial towns in Colombia. I didn't feel unsafe, but I stick to the places Gringos are supposed to go. Last summer we did the usual Gringo trail, Bogota, Villa de Leyva, San Gil, Cartagena and San Andreas. I have been to Medellin a couple of times in the past without incident. It's a lovely city and has some great clubs. It's like an open air art gallery. Here are some photos from the trip 13 years ago. The last one shows what I assume are impounded drug submarines in Cartagena dock and what I assume is a police interceptor boat that may, or may not, have started off as a cartel boat.

You're right about Cali, it has very little for tourists. The only place in South America I felt unsafe was mainland Ecuador, but I was only in Quito.

Could you tell me the flash set up for macro and the hummingbirds? I am just starting to do some macro. I am going to buy a Godox V860III flash next month when I am on holiday as they are only £96.You're right about Cali, it has very little for tourists.
