Castle Archdale...

... well the remains of it anyway!

Hmm after much debate over which gallery to post these in I settled for Landscape and Nature, no idea why, but anyway, here goes...

I spent a while here trying to capture a few different images of this old castle... getting into shooting in RAW and using manual mode a lot more so trying to 'up the bar' with my photos so to speak. Hopefully these are a little better than what I would have been producing a few months back.

Feedback good/bad/ugly appreciated!

superb,I like these shots alough I think no 4 should have a little less contrast,maybe even try it in sepia tone,but over all there great alough I am an beginer so what would I know :lol:

You're probably right about the 4th, I've noticed quite a few variations between my pc monitor and my laptop... and I processed it on my laptop where it looks quite different to now on my pc monitor! I may give the sepia a go too, thanks!

Those mushroos marching up the tree to invade the tower are great, nice and twisty, something in the forground mid and far too. nice one

great shots becky, love these. my fav is #2, just love the softness of the grass/clouds and gentle slope of the hill contrasted with the hard edge of the remains. the pov and comp are outstanding in that one.

#3 is a close second for me, really great shot with the foreground/background as already mentioned, great eye on that one... is it tilted a little or just the natural slope? the remains in the background appear to have a "leaning tower of pisa" thing going on... was there some shade falling on the 'shrooms? some of them seem a little dark, not sure if burning would help 'em or not...

awesome stuff... :thumbup:

Hey, I have only had my morning coffee and I still a) like the POV of the "mushroom invasion" photo very much, it sure is something different, and b) I find Tim's interpretation/description very apt. Well seen, Becky. Well commented, Tim

And I also like the light in Photo 1.
Have tried RAW before ... but only twice so far. I would need to get myself more memory cards if I really wanted to explore RAW-shooting more, I guess (but ok, I don't go away from home for 12 days ALWAYS, and could therefore easily come back and unload my card content into my computer ... :scratch: ... so more RAW-shooting you say?)
