I just looked through all of your posts.

There is something about all your images that get's to me.. It's like you ignore all the guidelines of photography.. whether out of ignorance or complete disregard I'm not sure... Then because of your almost incoherent explanations and reasons for the images I am forced to attempt to understand something in an image that I would have just discounted as a crappy snapshot moments before.. Every once and a while I'm rewarded by noticing a glimmer of almost well made composition that is then shot down by another element of the image and it gives me an almost cathartic sense of hopelessness.. as If eventually I will arrive at some grand idea behind all of your imagery that has been escaping me but none ever comes.

Perhaps your idea is to create that feeling in your viewers or perhaps there is something you are yet to understand about making interesting photographs as a beginner.. I'm not sure, but I think if you keep at it and keep improving your work in whatever fashion you wish I feel we will all eventually learn something.


If you indeed are a beginner I would recommend you read about photographic composition then take those ideas and apply them to the next photographs you take. You will notice immediate improvement, not only in the quality of your images but in the ability of those images to send the message you want to send.

If you are some maddened troll I hope you recognize that your persistence in this alone actually turns it into an artistic endeavor, and if you are some truly skilled artist attempting to create a symphony of images which disregard all formality in order to illicit some sort of negative response in your viewers, just know you are on the right track.

To me, it looks like YOU are the maddened TROLL. One thing I noticed in this forum is the lack of people skills by some and you have none sir.

If you had half a brain, you would have looked at his profile and saw he is new, so assuming(remember the first 3 letters here) he is beginner is correct on your lucky guess.

James, it was not the intent of my post to offend anyone and if I did offend you I am not going to apologize as I feel my comment is neither ignorant or in need of rewording. The intent of my post was simply to state how his body of work makes me feel in an artistic sense and to offer guidance if needed. If you went back and read all of his previous posts as I had you would understand where I was coming from.. I am not the first to wonder if this user is a troll.

...And if you would go back and double check his profile as you told me to do you would see that this user is not new to the forum, check the date he joined. He's been here for a year. Much longer than I have, so I don't see him as a newb to the forum by any means. He's been taking pictures seriously for at least a year so there is obviously some intentionality to his images... something I felt should be commented on in an articulate manner that would prove helpful to him no matter what sort of a person he is. I'm not here to judge people, just to give my outlook on their art.

If I came off as rude, ignorant, or lacking in people skills then it is simply because I was being truthful about how his current body of work may be seen by people and how he could improve his work.. no matter what type of a person he is.

I do hope I didn't offend Sicboi with my post as it was not meant to be taken as an insult or as sarcasm. (which I know is hard to figure out on the internet) I thought that was made clear by my encouragement for him to continue.

Its hard to get better at your craft without honest and truthful critiques, but its hard to give such a thing when every time they are given people take offense for whatever misinterpretation they seem to be prone to at any given time.. and I sincerely doubt anyone on this board wants to read hundreds of posts ending in:

It doesn't offend me but I see a lot of bashing when it comes to comments in this forum. Your verbage is very offensive IMO.
