"Categorize" Photo of the Month?

Any chance of a rotating category rather than a general contest? Seems the site needs a participation boost and this just might help. Comments???

Two thoughts come to mind: sounds slightly like the monthly challenge, and I imagine that would limit the entries. For example, only wildlife vs anything. I'll see what others have to say.

Simply suggesting possible ways to boost participation and interaction--both seem to be flagging of late. Those are the aspects of this site that drew and kept me here since 2013. Of late, I'm reminded of the stale atmosphere that ended my connection with old school camera clubs. Harsh? Judgmental? Guilty, if that's the verdict. Je suis un provocateur...

@cgw They've made several changes, (nominating & voting) to promote better response but still its lagging. I know I've been lax about nominating but in my defense it seems that image posts in general have been down. There's only a few that have been regulars, so the variety of choices is limited.

One thing I have noticed is not being able to nominate from my phone. By the time I get back to my computer I forget.

No problem; I'm glad for the suggestion. It seems to be limiting but I'm willing to give it a shot. I'd like a bit more input from others.

Is this an issue with copying and pasting the images and link to original photo post, or something else? I'm not aware of anything I can do on my end, but I can certainly forward it to the tech folks.

Revisiting

For whatever reason, my previous post created a link to a bookmark when I linked to your original post. I fixed that, but still can't add the FLickr "Share" link with the Insert Image function.

It looks like the Insert Image function does not work with the Flickr photo links. You have to just past the Share link from Flickr directly in the post or use the Insert Link function. Insert Image does work with photos on Facebook. I couldn't get it to work with Instagram as I don't see a Copy Image Address option there.

I don't have any other hosting plans so I cant check Dropbox, et. al.

All for anything to boost participation. The biggest issue seems to be the lack of nominating (I'll admit I'm just as bad as the rest).

I usually comb the galleries at the end of the month, looking. I didn't have a chance to do that this time.

The best time to nominate is the day you see it!

It can be time consuming to go back to find what you liked at the end of the month. The end result is fewer nominations of good work.
