This statue is about 60' high in Aguascalientes. Jose Guadalupe Posada is the artist of catrinas and this statue is in his honor. He was born and lived in Aguascalientes.

New Mexico has a very strong connection to Posada and his work is well known here.

Dia de los Muertos is a very strong rooted cultural aspect here that is celebrated by both Spanish and native folk in their own rights.

His most notable is The Calavera Maderista here and is found as white stickers on cars and various t-shirt and poster memes.
