So guys, I just bought a DSLR, a Canon EOS 1000D.

I was having a little think, and seems as though I show cattle, and I love photography, why not incorporate them both!? So, I'm asking you, what kind of setup do you think would be appropriate for this to be achieved? (Taking photo's of people showing the cattle, that is. ;) ) Generally the shows would be outside, though in some cases they are inside. Lighting is probably one of my main concerns, though not a major one considering the main show I go to (Royal Melbourne) is in a massive shed with lot's of lighting. Would you recommend me getting a flash?

Also, it's coming with an 18-55mm and a 75-300mm lens, my thoughts are to sell the last one and buy a flash and some accessories, agree? I'm not too sure that I'll use it straight up, and if it's worth just something, then why not sell it and buy something I do need!? :)

Anyway, some input would be greatly appreciated! :)

Sell the 75-300 and get yourself a Canon 430EX II....Then later save up your chips and get rid of that kit lens and pick yourself up a new lens - 17-40 f4 L

I was thinking about getting that flash, but I think it's a bit too expsensive. I might be able to find one used though. Never know.
