Caught something weird oo

Hello everyone! I am fairly new to photography and just recently bought my very first DSLR (D3100). As such, me and a few friends went out to take some shots with our cameras and at the end of the day while i was reviewing my shots i stumbled upon some rather weird things in some of my shots. I took 5 shots of a similar scenery and in all 5 shots there is some weird kind of blue thingy in the pictures. Very weird. I showed my friend and he thought i caught a spirit, lol. All joke aside though, I'm sure it was just some kind of lighting problem or something, but it does leave me curious just as to what it is. (It is not a orb) So anyways here are the 5 shots I took and it would be awesome if you guys could tell me just what this is.

Oooohhhhhh... A blue alien spacecraft! It's the Woggian Warriors, they are coming to take over the earth! lol!

Question! Do you have a UV filter or something similar on your lens? Take it off, and throw it away! They cause lens flare like that, like crazy (especially the really cheap ones!). The guy at the store probably told you that you needed it to protect the lens, right? Wrong... that is why you have a lens hood. Keep the hood on when using the lens, and lens cap it when you aren't using it.

My guess is something is smeared on the lens / filter.

Actually I bought it online body only and use the standard uv filter that came with it lol. Thanks though, I just looked into this and now i know that 99% of "ufo orbs in the sky" are caused by uv filters! lol

Another question though, isn't it bad to take off ur uv filter in direct sun light?

FILM needed a UV filter! Digital does not! UV does not affect it!
