Change the forum background color

Background color? Meh. Most galleries I have been in have white walls.

True, but those gallery walls are not bright and backlit like a monitor, are they?

If you take a light meter to a gallery, is the amount of light falling on the work the same as the wall surrounding it?

That's exactly my point. Darker images on this forum are going to be WAY DARKER than the background, every time. I have basically stopped posting high-contrast B&W photos here because of that.

That's a cool tip, thanks – I chose Shadowbox and it does create a much better photo-viewing experience. That doesn't solve the problem though, as – I assume – the vast majority of forum members likely have the default resizer as their setting of choice.

I played with this.. used the Awesome box v2.0. Now when I click on an image, I get a nice dark grey BG! Sweet!

Yeah, but you have to CLICK and wait for each image. I'd rather just see the images against a more neutral background in the first place.
