Nice effort. To bad, that the features of the landscape didn't cooperate. There is nothing really to grab attention and in this case the sky. It is too flat and greyish.Nice, impressive clouds would be better. May by some trimming of the top of the picture would bring some improvement ?

It is changing the ratio of boring, gray upper part to more interesting ground and establishes the the sand of the beach as a strong focus point.

I didn't particularly like the image to start with and only did it for a friend's request..I might crop it this way as it does give it more bounce. Thanks for the effort.

This is a good example of how a fairly drastic crop, and a totally different aspect ratio can make a major change in an image. I do think though that if it were a printed, mounted, matted image, the original might look pretty good, but on-screen, not so much. On-screen, the heavily cropped image looks better.

i really just can't find a decent composition out of it no matter which way you crop. Kind of staring at it on my screen envisioning and i got nothn... Looking for balance, lines, i just got nothing...

better, has Derrel kind of hinted too, you going to send it to print in that aspect ratio? Not even sure what that is.
